ABOUT COACH DAVE
Dave Stotter is a master shooter. He has made 1503 free throws in a row. He has made 119 three pointers in a row; however, his true passion is teaching the art of shooting with a hands on, interactive style designed to scientifically discover the best shot mechanics for a player based on that individual’s unique attributes and needs.
Throughout his career as a shooting coach, Dave has worked with NBA players, international pros, as well as college and high school players. He began his coaching career as the shooting coach for Kobe Bryant’s alma mater Lower Merion High School. During his tenure, Lower Merion won multiple state championships and posted the highest shooting percentages in team history.
With Dave’s help, hundreds of his clients have made dramatic improvement in their shooting percentages and scoring ability. They have achieved goals ranging from starting on varsity to earning a D1 scholarship to becoming a pro.

MY PHILOSOPHY OF TEACHING SHOOTING
“I begin with the premise that there is no single shot technique that is best for every shooter. Differences in size, strength, coordination, flexibility, quickness, eye dominance, existing habits, work ethic, and unknowable intangibles support the logic of the premise. Therefore, building the optimal shot for any given shooter is an exercise in problem-solving.
From toes to fingers each part of the shot must be tailored to the individual attributes and needs of the player. Optimizing in this way requires knowledge of every intelligent approach to every aspect of shooting.
Through systematic trial and error, we (because it’s a collaborative process between player and coach) will find the techniques that lead to shooting the straightest ball, with the quickest release, the most power and the optimal arc. In other words, the best shot for each shooter.
This philosophy requires openness, flexibility of thought, and the sublimation of ego. Sometimes a teacher, always a student.”
